Colombia Oculta recognizes the importance of sustainable and regenerative tourism, as well as current tourism regulations; In this regard, from its earliest years of operation, the company decided to focus its efforts on sustainable management across all its tourism operations by implementing processes aimed at eliminating, mitigating, and preventing negative impacts on the environment and surroundings of the destinations it markets, as well as on their culture and natural biodiversity, while also generating positive impacts, always involving local communities.
Within the agency, we seek to implement sustainability processes in the tourism sector, sharing with our suppliers and partners the sustainability programs and policies we have designed, as well as campaigns and codes of conduct and prevention against the sale of children, child prostitution, and child pornography (ESCNNA), discrimination, and the exclusion of communities.
We share best practices in sustainable tourism with our partners and suppliers, advising them and enhancing their skills through training and awareness-raising initiatives on the principles of sustainable tourism. We focus on continuing to promote environmental best practices in our community, participating in external activities, and reporting both internally and externally on the agency’s progress and sustainable initiatives.
One of our main objectives is to achieve the greatest possible positive impact, committing to continuous improvement in all areas of sustainability—sociocultural, economic, and environmental—as well as customer satisfaction. To this end, the agency will operate according to criteria of sustainability and efficiency in the use of resources across its various tourism activities and operations.
Finally, Colombia Oculta highlights the work it has been carrying out in the various destinations it operates in through the inclusion of indigenous and rural communities, contributing to the human, social, cultural, and economic development of these destinations. It guides its activities according to criteria of sustainability and the protection of the nation’s cultural and natural heritage; in this regard, it will continue working to promote responsible, regenerative, and sustainable tourism.
This sustainable tourism manifesto will be updated whenever circumstances require it, with new sustainability goals being adopted and published in each instance.
